Teacher Mo (they/them) is a graduate of the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. They first joined M&M in 2019 at South Canton Scholars, and then joined the team at SPS in 2021 after a year-long break. Mo has lived in four countries and has a love for language and culture. They are also passionate about accessibility and accommodations for disabled students, specifically those with neurological disabilities such as Autism and ADHD. For fun, they make and sell art, play video games, and read and translate Queer Chinese webnovels.
Ms. Jill (she/her) first joined M&M in June of 2022 during summer camp. She has been working in childcare for 3 and a half years, from daycares to nannying to school-age. During her time off she enjoys playing volleyball, hanging out with friends and family, and watching Master Chef! She is always trying to find new projects or activities for her class, and she loves when her students don’t want to leave because of how much fun they’re having!
Matt (he/him) has been with M&M for three years. South Pointe is the third M&M Site that he's pitched-in where needed. He makes great connections with the students at every site, so although it's difficult to leave each one, he is a real M&M Team player! In addition to before and after school care, Matt has worked as sail camp instructor and director for several years, and comes from a family of childcare providers. Matt is a huge Detroit Lions fan, loves his two dogs and also enjoys video games in his free time. We are happy to have him on our South Pointe Scholars team!
Ms. Abigail (she/her) is a mom to a wild boy and a girl fur-baby. This is her first year here at SPS but could not be more eager to build relationships, help teach the students, and become a part of the family here! She graduated from Lincoln High School and massage therapy school. She absolutely adores working with children and helping them deal with emotions. Communication and listening are key to helping Ms. Abigail with getting to know and understanding every student.
Ms. Katelyn (she/they) moved to the Ann Arbor area a couple years ago. She is originally from the Chicago suburbs, where she graduated from College of DuPage with an associates degree in psychology. They are currently enrolled at the University of Michigan for psychology and writing. Working with the M&M kids for almost 2 years has helped her develop a passion to become a child psychologist. In her spare time, Ms. Katelyn enjoys being with her pitbull mix rescue, Boo. Their guilty pleasures include PC video games and TV. Her recent series have been "Lost" and "Modern Family". Her childhood favorite book was Goodnight Moon - a classic!
Ms. Tara has been with M & M since 2009 and also began as an Enrichment Specialist. But with Tara’s extensive experience and expertise in School-Age programming, it was clear her role was to include so much more. Tara is instrumental in providing high quality care at M&M. Tara is a valuable coach and leader to all Specialists, Site Leaders and even the Administrative Team. Tara will often step into a classroom to cover a shift, to help train a new specialist, or even just because she LOVES working with the kids! Tara’s greatest love—planning and working summer camp!
As the owner of M&M Daycare, Inc., Madonna has been providing care for children since 1995. As a parent of two children who attended NHA Schools, Madonna understands the important role that M&M Plays in providing a quality school-age program. She understands that strong partnerships with families, co-workers and school-day teachers will aid in the growth and development of each child. Her team of professionals are provided with an equally safe and cooperative workplace where honesty, integrity, trust, respect, and ongoing professional education is their primary responsibility. Although Madonna now operates primarily in the administration of the program, she believes in her team and relies on them to provide the best before and afterschool program available!
